Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Deputy Lead)
Company Overview
It is a US-based health-tech company building a unified, multi-tenant SaaS platform for clinics, telehealth, and pharmacy commerce. The platform brings onboarding, ordering, prescriptions, pricing, payments, and fulfillment into one system, featuring white-label storefronts that let partner clinics sell under their own brand. Built to a strict HIPAA standard, the current technical stack consists of Node.js/Express, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS, with a React Native mobile app on the upcoming roadmap. The engineering department operates as a small, senior, AI-augmented team utilizing modern AI tooling heavily, hiring specifically for high judgment, deep ownership, and the strategic ability to direct and review AI-generated code.
Mission
We are hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to serve as the technical anchor and deputy lead, reporting directly to the CTO. In this role, you will be the most senior engineer after the CTO, owning architecture and delivery across the web platform, setting the quality bar, and keeping the team moving forward efficiently. As an AI-augmented developer, you will utilize advanced tools to direct and review code rather than relying on raw output, owning real surface area across core product features. Additionally, you will step up to unblock the team, lead code reviews, manage production infrastructure, and eventually spearhead the build of our mobile application when it kicks off.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily tasks will vary, giving you room to learn, grow, and strengthen your skills while supporting the team with excellence.
- Own technical architecture and engineering decisions across the entire Node/Express, React, and PostgreSQL platform deployed on AWS.
- Build, scale, and ship core product features, including payment systems, the pricing engine, multi-tenant white-label storefronts, and third-party provider/fulfillment integrations.
- Act as the direct deputy to the CTO, running day-to-day delivery, managing code reviews, and unblocking the engineering team.
- Manage and maintain production infrastructure part-time, overseeing AWS environments, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring systems, and our overall HIPAA security posture with support from a security consultant.
- Lead the development and build of the React Native mobile application when the project launches.
- Direct, audit, and review AI-generated code (utilizing modern AI development tools) to maintain strict quality, optimization, and security standards.
